This conflation of disciplines becomes a quasi-archive chronicling an episodic tree mortality event in the Colorado Rockies near Silverthorne. It also represents stages of grief and recovery that occur when phenomena of such proportions takes place on a land area that embraces change and progressive resilience to impermanence. The project follows this dramatic event as scaffolding for a deeper artist’s inquiry related to ontology, impermanence, and conservation-minded maintenance.
